The Pacific Coast Highway is one of America’s most iconic road trips. It certainly holds a special place in the hearts of many, myself included. That’s because this trip was the one that ultimately started it all. My obsession for travel, and this blog, all stems from that two week journey I spent driving up the Pacific Coast Highway. Ultimately, we didn’t even stop where the iconic “PCH” proper ends. We continued much further north, along the northern coast and into Oregon. This edition of my visual journey series features photos from the entire length of that trip.
In a way it not only documents the traditional trip that so many road trip enthusiasts take, but a much fuller experience that fewer have the opportunity or time to undertake. Looking back on these pictures relights my desire to spend time there, to experience the crisp ocean air and stand under dauntingly large trees. I hope these pictures and this visual journey inspire you to take a trip along this magnificent stretch of coast one day too.
