Day Trip to Amelia Island

At Adventure’s End: 48 Hours in Portland
I believe the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end.” In my mind, there was no better end possible than Portland. The City of Roses (though not in bloom) ultimately was the culmination of more than just a road trip. It served as the final launching point into a new future.

Following our day driving among the redwoods and the Avenue of the Giants, it was time to seek out even bigger trees. The final true portion of our trip in California involved our toughest hike. It also cemented my real desire to continue seeing the wonders this world offers. Among the Redwoods – Part One
When I planned this trip along the Pacific Coast, I made sure to add an extra stop in Northern California. One can’t make the whole drive north without seeing the redwoods. I couldn’t make it north without needing to spend a good deal of time among the giants. My final three days in California were truly transformative for me. San Francisco: One Day by the Golden Gate
Form a picture in your mind of San Francisco. The Golden Gate Bridge. Fisherman’s Wharf and Alcatraz in the bay. Lombard Street’s steep and winding road. Trolly cars climbing up hills. Houses perched along a sloping street, defying the hill and gravity.
