Florida Man on the Run

Hi! I’m Zack! I’ve spent the whole of my twenties working my way into middle management at one of the top retailers in the world. I never took the time during college to do much traveling outside Florida since I found dedication to scraping by a living to apparently be more worth my time. As I prepare to turn 30, some self-reflection, my beautiful wife’s free spirit, the extra money which middle management has afforded me and my mother’s own extraordinary travels, have spurred me to make up for not traveling when I was a tad younger. I’ve also figured that if I’m going to dedicate the next portion of my life to doing some traveling, well, I might as well document it in some fashion. For posterity, you know?

I have grown up my whole life in Florida and haven’t ventured far from my roots. I got my Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida and Jacksonville has been my home for nearly a decade. I met my beautiful wife (and ever-present traveling companion) once I moved into town and she is a driving force in making me want to do and see more than what Florida’s beaches and swamps have to offer. With that being said, I don’t intend to spend the rest of my life living in Florida either, but no matter where I end up Florida will always retain a special place in my heart. In particular, a swampy place where only Gators get out alive.

So, you’re probably wondering just what to expect in reading this journey of mine. That’s an excellent question!…. Oh, I’m supposed to have an answer for that. Well, I’m still not 100% sure what you’ll find here yet. My intention is to provide an honest account of the places I visit, the people I meet, and the pit falls I encounter. In addition to this written account of my travels, you’ll frequently find videos and photos of where I’ve been. There will also be a good bit of information about how I plan trips and execute those plans to the best of my ability (and circumstances). At the end of the day it’ll hopefully be an entertaining look into my travels and maybe even a bit educational.

Thank you for keeping me company on my adventures and give me a wave if you see me on the road.
